Lubomir Dyakovsky

Creative Biography

Lyubomir Dyakovsky graduates from the vocal faculty of the Pancho Vladigerov Music Academy in Sofia and debuts in the role of Ernesto from the opera “Don Pasquale”.

He has performed on all opera stages in Bulgaria. In his repertoire, he has over 50 roles, performing the leading tenor parts in operas such as “Lucia di Lammermoor”, “Pearl Fishers”, “La Bohème”, “Rigoletto”, “La Traviata”, “Eugene Onegin”, “Tosca”, “Faust”, “The Magic Flute”, “Madama Butterfly”, among others. His most acclaimed role is that of the Starosta from the opera “The Golden Cockerel” by R. Korsakov, which he performs in a French-Japanese coproduction at the Parisian “Châtelet” theatre and the “Kabuki” theatre. He also performs the same role on the stage of the Sofia Opera under the direction of Vili Tsankov and conductor Dimitar Manolov.

L. Dyakovsky sings tenor solos in over 30 cantatas, oratorios, and requiems with the leading Bulgarian choirs and symphony orchestras, including with the Vienna Boys’ Choir and the Choir of Radio and Television Zagreb. Among them are works by Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. Rossini, Schubert, Verdi, Puccini, Berlioz, Mahler, and others. He participates in one of the most prestigious music festivals in Europe – the festival in Dubrovnik.

In Bulgaria, L. Dyakovsky participates in the most prestigious music events: Sofia Music Weeks, Marten Days, Varna Summer, Winter Evenings in Plovdiv, and so on. His ten-year collaboration with Dobrin Petkov establishes him as a creator, responsible, demanding, and tolerant towards music and those who create it. In search of style, beauty, and perfection of sound. He is also the only opera singer to have released an opera album with the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Dobrin Petkov, with whom he performs and records some of the most challenging and rarely performed works such as “Matthäus Passion” by J. S. Bach, “Das Lied von der Erde” by G. Mahler, “Scenes from Faust” by Mendelssohn, as well as the Requiems by Mozart and Verdi.

Lubomir Dyakovsky has participated in over 5,000 concerts on stages such as Musikverein and Konzerthaus – Vienna, Theatre Champs Elysées – Paris, Konzerthaus – Berlin, Tchaikovsky Hall – Moscow, halls of the Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Leningrad Philharmonics, Lincoln Center – New York, cathedrals – St. Stephen“ in Vienna, „St. Michael“ – Hamburg, „Saint-Germain“ – Paris, London, Amsterdam, Madrid, Luxembourg, Frankfurt am Main, Zurich, Geneva, Mexico, and others.

In recent years, he has mainly been singing in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
He is one of the founders of the Pleven Opera.
He is a soloist with the “Great Don Cossacks”.
Manager and soloist of The Three Slavic Tenors.
He organises and participates in dozens of charitable initiatives both domestically and internationally.
